I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the pair confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.
Former two-time unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making massive earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Difference
As both boxers engaged in the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
