The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Express Frustration Over Size Changes
Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size.
This online marketplace has revised its size classifications for women's and children's garments but did not contact all shoppers about the modification.
Online Platforms Response
Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category than originally posted due to the recalibration.
The company said the new system was more in line with similar services.
They have suggested members to check their listings and manually change the size where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance.
Sizing System Changes
Before the change, the sizing featured one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10.
For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.
Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she explained.
Necessary Adjustments
Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she stated.
Platform Context
The app has more than 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK.
It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: last year, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
